Waist-hip ratio (WHR) is a better and simpler measure of assessing a person’s risk of heart attack than body mass index (BMI). Waist hip ratios greater than 0.8 for women or greater than 0.9 for men suggest a tendency for insulin resistance and cardio-vascular diseases.
